Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a gonadotropic hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland that regulates the reproductive system in both women and men. In females, an LH surge triggers ovulation and the formation of the corpus luteum, which produces progesterone. In males, LH stimulates the Leydig cells in the testes to produce testosterone, which is essential for sperm production and male characteristics.
